Baath Party Headquarters
Entrance way to the old Baath Party HQ. This building was actually targeted in the very first air strike of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Destroyed windows. If you think this is bad, you should see the OTHER side of the building.
I am sitting in a chair around the corner from the conference room where they thought a JDAM would catch Saddam and his ministers. There is nothing left of the conference room, but Saddam wasn't there.

That might be the very same chair saddam sat in when he ordered his own people gassed... He was such a great leader, wasn't he? Too bad his head wasn't wrenched off as he was flung to his death. Too bad he wasn't made to suffer as he made so many others suffer. Death came too swiftly for him. It should have been slow and drawn out and public. And his head should have been set upon a stump so all could jeer and laugh at his fate. But, really, won't another just like him rise up? And the people will adore him.
Maybe, just maybe, that's what this country actually needs.
