Last details
I just found out today that I will be awarded a Defense Meritorious Service Medal for my time over here. And everyone gets an Iraq Campaign medal.
Plus, my guys pinned an Army Combat Action Badge on my chest - it may not be official, but it means a lot. More perhaps, because it came from the guys who actually go outside of the wire, rather than some General.

Congrats on both accounts! Especially the badge from your guys - they must respect you a lot.
Mark - you were awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Award before you left for Iraq as well. Remember? Now you have two.
You not getting some type of combat related award is a bit ridiculous. It's not like you were over doing pool maintenance for the troops.
