Both my Staff Sergeant and I have white boards behind our desks. I like to use mine to sketch out ideas and we both keep a list of the various projects we're working on. As I walked by yesterday I noticed this at the bottom of her project list:
"Convince the Major that he's not a Marine any more."
It made me smile.

How does someone convince you that Paris Island didn't happen? How are you convinced that everything you went through in the Marine Corps: the comraderie, the history, the sacrifice, the perseverance, the failures and the successes, everything you worked hard to
achieve, how can that go away? It doesn't. You're not in the Marine Corps anymore but you'll always be
a Marine.
That's what I tried to explain to him, but he's been brainwashed by the Army.
