Discouraging news

The Army Times (one of the few sources that I can quote on-line) stated that there were 1,300 IED attacks in the month of September. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the author continued to state that “based upon current usage, there are enough stocks of illegal explosives [in Iraq] to continue the same level of attack for 274 years without re-supply.” Wow.

1300?!! Wow, that's over 43 explosions per day (if my math is correct). And I bet that in most (if not all) of those attacks, the people setting the explosives got away. There has to be a better way to fight a war.

Not better for the bad guys - as far as I can tell, it is near perfect for them. They enjoy almost total sympathy from the local populace and are funded and armed from neighboring countries not involved in the military operations. The only problem they have is this nasty little civil war.

I guess that "raging kegger" of a party Jon Stewart was talking about for when America wins big in Iraq will be postponed just a tad.

We are winning...right?
