After having been here for eleven months it almost seemed natural. But it's not. Iraq is changing to daylight savings time tonight, and the Army actually issued an order on it. Not a reminder, a formal, written order. I am not kidding - it came across my desk this afternoon.
I guess in the Army it's not official until it comes down from the General - I wonder how I ever managed this every other year? It's laughable.

We changed to daylight savings time a few weeks ago. Earlier than ever before - I think it was out gov'ts idea to make everyone a little happier. I guess they didn't realize that the sunlight has to come from somewhere. Those of us who have to get up early are a little sadder.
Okay, get this: The US Army switched to Daylight savings last night, but the local Iraqis didn't!! Oh well, I guess it's better than last year, when FOB Slayer changed their clocks a week before Camp Victory did!
