Red Zone = Bad
Does that mean it is unpatrolled or not controlled at night, or just plain no go?
Red means unsecure, which can itself mean anything from usually-friendly-but-don't-your-guard-down, to an insurgent stronghold like Ramadi where you don't go unless you go in force. I will say that the route through the red zone has gotten better - it used to be - so I am told - almost a running gun battle down Route 80 - now it's a fairly routine run. Most of the time the trip is uneventful.
